This is our last day in Coron. We had a pretty busy schedule. We visited a lot of places in a span of 2 days. But me and Maiza had an unfinished business and that is to climb Mt. Tapyas at 4am. Yet we failed again… only on the “4am” part.
First thing we did on our last day was to buy some pasalubong. We were unlucky because the kasoy factory was close. But we couldn’t go home without this popular pasalubong from Palawan so we went to the market instead.
Sir Mike also brought us to this souvenir shop where I found some really beautiful handmade bracelets to add to my collection.
Going back to the Mt. Tapyas mission. After shopping, we still had time to climb Mt. Tapyas. It was almost noon. The scorching heat of the sun didn’t stop us. Me and Maiza had no other time to do it. We were left with no choice. We just had to prepare for that climb. We both secured bottled water. There were no shops there even when we reached the top. It was empty except for the birds, trash bins, cottages, benches and trees.
Trust me, it wasn’t an easy climb. We had to make several stops before we finally reach the top. The difficulty of going up will make you appreciate everything, from the grass, to the trees, birds and the view.
If I live in Coron, this will probably be my favorite hiding place. My place of peace.
Before going to the airport, we paid a short visit to Sir Mike’s close friend, Mike Sotto. We were privileged to see his beautiful wood collection displayed inside his cozy house.
We had to bid goodbye to our newly found friends on this trip. It was only me, Maiza, sir Mike and kuya Carlo who will be taking the plane back to Manila. The rest of the group decided to extend their vacation. I envy them. If only we had the luxury of time and money, I might as well will stay.

But this isn’t goodbye yet to this beautiful island. I will surely be back.
